What does the Echomedic app do?

Echomedic transcribes conversations during emergency responses in real-time and extracts structured medical data to automatically fill out patient reports. It is designed to be used with an attached microphone while ambulance personnel focus on patient care.

Is my audio stored?

No. Audio is streamed in real-time to our transcription service and processed in memory only. It is never written to disk or stored in any database. Complete audio recordings never exist at any point.

How do I log in?

The app uses HelseID, the Norwegian health sector identity provider. You log in with your HelseID credentials, which verifies your identity and HPR number. Session data is stored securely in the iOS Keychain and deleted when you log out.

How does Echomedic handle GDPR compliance?

Echomedic is designed with privacy by design. We do not store audio, do not use analytics or tracking, and process all data within the EU/EEA. We comply with GDPR, including Article 9 for health data, and follow Normen for information security in the Norwegian healthcare sector.
